A pinnectomy is a procedure that removes part of the outer ear flap, usually when tissue has been severely damaged by injury, infection, or disease. Surgery can help relieve pain, remove unhealthy tissue, and support better healing.

An ear hematoma happens when blood collects between the layers of the ear flap, causing swelling, discomfort, and irritation. Surgery helps drain the hematoma, reduce pain, and lower the chance of the ear refilling or healing with permanent thickening.
