Ophthalmic/ Eye Surgery

Types of Ophthalmic/Eye Surgery We Offer

Eye surgery focuses on treating painful, injured, or abnormal conditions affecting the eye and surrounding tissues.

Enucleation is the surgical removal of a painful or severely damaged eye when it can no longer be safely or comfortably saved. While this can sound overwhelming, many pets recover very well and adjust beautifully after surgery.

A proptosed eye occurs when the eye is displaced forward out of the socket, often after trauma, and it requires urgent veterinary attention. In some cases, surgery may be performed to reposition and protect the eye, depending on the extent of the injury.

Bilateral entropion or ectropion surgery corrects eyelid abnormalities affecting both eyes that can lead to irritation, pain, discharge, or corneal damage. Surgery helps the eyelids sit more normally and protects the surface of the eyes.

Unilateral entropion or ectropion surgery corrects an eyelid abnormality affecting one eye. This procedure can help relieve discomfort, reduce irritation, and protect the eye from ongoing damage.
